A rich black-blue with subtle violet undertones, it shifts beautifully under light and reveals a dark red sheen on select papers. With broad or wet-writing pens, it deepens to near jet black, offering versatility for various writing and artistic styles.

Van Dieman's Pepperberry from the Tassie Autumn series is a dark blue-black ink with low shading. It dries in 20 seconds in a medium nib on Rhodia and has an average flow.

Pepperberry is Van Dieman's darkest blue ink to date, bordering on jet black with broad and wet-writing pens, but exhibiting blue and violet hues under light and a dark red sheen.
